The MSEC program and the McCoy College of Business have developed a program that allows students to get a combined PhD/MBA. This new combined degree allows the students to receive both degrees at a reduced number of hours relative to the two separate degree plans by taking advantage of course work already in the MSEC program that is business-related.

Outstanding Graduate Student Award
Awarded to a College of Science graduate student who exhibits outstanding performance in scholarship, research, teaching, and service. Recognition is awarded in the form of a plaque presented to the student. In addition, a perpetual plaque with the student's name is displayed outside the office of the Dean of Science. Graduate College Scholarships
The Graduate College provides these scholarships to encourage students with intellectual, creative, and leadership promise to complete a master's or doctoral degree at Texas State University. These scholarships are available for newly admitted and continuing students (but see College restrictions in the detailed description). Awards range from $1,000 to $1,500 per semester. Graduate College Doctoral Research Support Fellowships
The Graduate College provides Doctoral Research Support Fellowships to support graduate student research at the doctoral level. Texas State Doctoral Merit Fellowships
The Graduate College's Texas State Doctoral Merit Fellowships are prestigious awards intended for use in recruiting doctoral students of the highest quality to Texas State University. The Texas State Doctoral Merit Fellowship provides $9,000 to new doctoral students for their first academic year of study (paid in early September, January, and June). These fellowships can be combined with graduate assistantships or departmental scholarships to create an attractive financial aid package for top-quality applicants. doctoral/program directors are encouraged to identify and nominate eligible applicants (prospective students cannot apply directly).
